Sexual & Reproductive Health Services

Sexual & Reproductive Health Services
The Sexual and Reproductive Health (SRH) Department of the Society for Health Education (SHE) is committed to enhancing awareness and access to sexual and reproductive health education and services, fostering well-being and informed decision-making within communities. This department is dedicated to providing services and education on topics such as sexual health, family planning, maternal health, and the prevention of sexually transmitted infections (STIs). The SRH department plays a vital role in advocating for reproductive rights, supporting sexual health education in schools and communities, and working to improve SRH outcomes.

This is achieved through both the static clinic and mobile outreaches, where individuals receive comprehensive information on sexual and reproductive health, undergo gynecological and pediatric consultations, and have access to HIV and STI testing services. These are designed to ensure accessibility and provide a holistic approach to sexual and reproductive health, offering preventive care, counseling, and support to individuals in various community settings. Resources are developed to provide essential information, reduce stigma, and enhance access to sexual and reproductive health services, with a particular focus on marginalized communities. By engaging with a wide range of communities, the department aims to support informed choices and contribute to better health outcomes.

The Society for Health Education (SHE) is dedicated to promoting the well-being of youth by providing education and resources on various health topics, empowering young individuals to make informed decisions and lead healthier lives. As part of this initiative, a Youth Kiosk has been established as a safe space for adolescents, where comprehensive Adolescent Sexual and Reproductive Health (ASRH) information is provided. Safe space sessions are hosted separately, allowing adolescents to discuss reproductive health-related issues in a non-discriminatory and non-judgmental environment. Additionally, peer educators from the adolescent population are trained to contribute to the Youth Kiosk actively, ensuring that the space remains inclusive and supportive for all.

The Siththaa mobile application is an initiative, part of youth-friendly initiatives, aimed at providing accessible and accurate sexual and reproductive health information. It also includes a feature that enables users to submit questions anonymously and receive responses from trained professionals.
