Celebration of International Women’s Day 2010 at SHE

NARRATIVE REPORT

The internationally acclaimed theme of 2010 was to celebrate women’s day is “Equal Rights, Equal Opportunities; Progress for All”.

Society of Health Education constitutes a majority of women staff of 19. Hence the importance of marking such a special day within the organization is given much significance.

1.       Objectives

  •  To strengthen team work and partnership among the staff.
  • To advocate staff on women’s development.

2.       Expected Outcome

  •  Stronger partnership with all working groups.
  • To have fun activities altogether to create a healthy working atmosphere.

3.       Planned Activities:

  • To place Banner in the walk –in area of SHE – To symbolize Women’s day.
  • Dr.Mausooma Kamaldeen to facilitate a session for all staff on women’s right and empowerment.
  • To present each customer/couple or family with a gift (Fruit Platter) with a written message to symbolize the importance women’s day.
  • Lunch to all Staff and EXCO members.

4.      Recommendations and Way forward:

  • Women’s day messages were in English and some stakeholders recommended those messages to be written in Dhivehi.
  • Some staff recommended games to be scheduled within the working hours as more staff could participate.
